Idris Elba is set to give fans a look at his personal life (and his ripped physique) as he gears up for his first ever kickboxing match on an upcoming docu-series, Idris Elba: Fighter, according to a news release on Wednesday.

Discovery Networks International announced that it has partnered with Idris for this second limited series which will chronicle the Luther star's year-long journey training in Britain, Cuba, Japan, South Africa and Thailand as he attempts to fulfill his "lifelong ambition" of testing himself against professional brawlers.

Under the supervision of former world champions, coaches and trainers, the British heartthrob will incorporate new training methods to increase his chances of having a successful fight.

"Entering the ring to further test myself as a human being is a challenge I have been looking to take on for quite some time," said Idris in a statement.

Idris Elba: Fighter doesn't premiere until early 2017, but if his previews of his gym sessions on Instagram are anything to go by, than you can look forward to endless swooning at the sight of his ripped muscles.
