After news that both Oros Mampofu and Natasha Thahane have left Skeem Saam, fans were understandably jittery when they recently learnt that actress Pretty Ncayiyana had joined e.tv's Scandal!
What would it mean for the actress’ future on the show, where she is known for her role as Ayanda?
While fans have speculated that she might follow the likes of Oros and Natasha out of the door, the show's creators say that she is very much still a part of their plans.
Speaking to TMG Entertainment on Friday, Skeem Saam spokesperson Percy Vilakazi said Pretty was "definitely still part of the show and is not leaving anytime soon".
He explained that Ayanda's contract with the show did not restrict her from working on projects for other channels, including the SABC's rival e.tv.
Speaking to Daily Sun this week, Pretty said that she has been inundated with calls from fans and friends worried that she might be leaving Skeem Saam for good.
''Just because I’m appearing on Scandal! doesn’t mean I’m leaving Skeem Saam. People should just relax. There are exciting things still coming for Ayanda on Skeem Saam. I’m still with the show and I’m not planning on leaving it any time soon," she told the publication.
