It has been sadness and miserable faces in the office ever since we learnt that Robbie Malinga is calling time on his solo music career to focus on production. But there's a silver lining...or four.

Robbie recently revealed that his upcoming album, entitled Love Duets, will be his last as a solo recording artist, as he prepares to move behind the scenes full-time.

While, that may be one of the saddest bits of news we've heard in a long time, it's not all doom and gloom for fans of the artist.

You see, there are a lot of reasons to still be super excited about Robbie's final album. And here's just four:

It will be out before you know it!

There's nothing worse than waiting for an album that you are excited for. And while Robbie may not do a Beyoncé and drop his album when we least expect it, he at least won't make us wait a million years like Frank Ocean.

Robbie this week told fans that the album will be out in "two weeks" time. Which means you'll probably be playing it all- day by the end of next month.

In fact, Robbie's promised that a single from the album will be playing on radio real soon.

It's like an A-list music farewell party

You don't need us to tell you that Robbie Malinga is one of the best artists and producers to come out of South Africa. He's worked with some of the biggest artists in the country and has managed to convince them to appear on his album. We're talking the likes of Naima Kay, Musa Sukwene, Karabo and Zahara.

If you don't believe us, then just check out the star-studded track list for the album, recently posted by Robbie on Instagram.

There's not one but TWO collaborations between Robbie and Kelly Khumalo

There's no doubt that Robbie and songstress Kelly Khumalo are a powerful duo, and it seems like our prayers for more collaborations between the two have been answered.

Robbie recently revealed that Kelly will contribute vocals on two tracks for the album, Ngiyabuza and Baby Please.

It's like music Christmas!

He'll still give us hits

He may be stepping out of the spotlight but Robbie will certainly not be gone for good.

His award-winning production work and handy eye for a talent means that SA music can look forward to many more talented musicians being discovered and refined by Robbie Malinga - and hopefully the odd collaboration to remind fans what they are missing.
