The internet's a killer. Twitter and other social media sites have a way of spreading news like wildfire, especially when it comes to a celebrity's untimely "demise".

This time, news of rapper Emtee's "death" has been spreading so quickly since the weekend, causing concern among fans across the country.

This comes after what appears to be a parody site that claimed that the Roll Up hitmaker was stabbed to death, which subsequently led to an outpouring of tributes from Emtee's fans.

Soon after, Emtee took to Twitter to dispel the fake report, assuring fans that he is still very much alive.

Emtee joins a long list of celebrities and politicians who have been declared dead by the internet, such as AKA, Black Coffee, former president Thabo Mbeki and recently, Leleti Khumalo.
