Grab a bag because Nadia Nakai is cleaning out the closet of all those pesky beef rumours.

As one of the biggest female rappers in music industry, Nadia Nakai has often been compared to other female emcees, leading to rumours of beef between her and several other ladies in the game.

Nadia, of course, made headlines last year when she responded to being snubbed on AKA's all-female Baddest Remix by launching a scathing attack at AKA and the ladies involved.

She was once again not included on the all-female Now or Never Remix released by DJ Switch earlier this month, leading to speculation that she might still be beefing with the artists involved.

  • Nadia Nakai gets snubbed on ANOTHER all-female remixDJ Switch has dropped an all-female remix of his Now or Never hit but it seems there was no love for rapper Nadia Nakai.

But speaking to Slikour recently, Nadia revealed that it was her decision to not participate in the remix.

"I was working on my own project and I didn't want to focus on anyone else's project that wasn't mine...I just feel like at the moment that it's not the right time for me to work with anyone who is on the remix," she said.

Nadia said that she felt the saga around the Baddest Remix played in her favour and helped set her stand out from the other artists. But she stressed that there is no animosity between her and other female artists.

Nadia also shut down rumours that she was beefing with Nomuzi Mabena, saying that she has always supported Nomuzi and had never accused her of not writing her own lines.

"I have never ever said to anyone that I felt Nomuzi doesn't write her own rhymes. I never said that. She got backlash for that and so have I. People say that I don't write my own rhymes. So, I would never say that about her," Nadia told Slikour.

Nadia revealed her ambitions to be on Hottest MCs list this year and said she's working on building her brand away from the shadow of being just another female artist.
