Fans question Karabo Mogane's win on Idols SA after premiering new music video

A new music video by 2015 Idols winner Karabo Mogane has spawned harsh criticism on social media, with some users claiming that he did not deserve to win the singing competition last year.

Karabo's video for Ngifuna Lo, in which he appears shirtless, was shown on the first Idols SA season 12 live voting show on Sunday evening.

While he might have stolen the hearts of many South Africans when he took the Idols crown in November 2015 after securing the lion’s share of the 74 million votes cast over the season, it appears that his latest music video has left fans underwhelmed and expressing their voter's remorse.

 

 

 

 

Apart from the overall video and song garnering negative criticism, some  Twitter users took shots saying that  he is "too skinny" and "flat chested"  to be appearing  without a shirt in the music video. Many others took aim at his close-up facial expressions, with Fikile Mbalula turning one of them into a side-splitting meme.
