Ahead of her international 400m race debut at the Diamond League in Brussels on Friday evening, gold medallist Caster Semenya took some time out to gush over one of her support structures, her wife Violet Raseboya.

In the process of glorifying a successful person, we often tend to ignore the role of the larger team at play.

Even in a sport like athletics, it’s the larger team that enables the player to stay focused, making him or her successful. This theory holds perfectly well in the case of Caster, where her wife has played the role of her support system – the larger team working behind her success.

Reminding the whole world of her support structure, the athlete took to Twitter to not only flaunt her bae, but to let us know that Violet's got her back.

This comes in the wake of Caster's recent list of mammoth achievements in just a short space of time. Soon after scoring a gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games as well as R500 000 prize money, she went on to win the overall season title in the women’s 800m event at the Diamond League series final in Zurich.

And on Friday, Caster ended her season with yet another gold medal, after winning her first international 400m race at the Diamond League in Brussels, beating five Rio 2016 finalists.
