South African zef group, Die Antwoord, have previously said that they won't exist forever. And while most people have forgotten about the statements, the band's Ninja has again confirmed that come September 2017 Die Antwoord will be no longer.

In a recent interview with US publication, Exclaim!, Ninja confirmed that Die Antwoord are sticking by their original idea and will officially disband next year.

"Die Antwoord dies on that day. It's all over. I feel beautiful about it. I'm not scared of the end. I'm a Ninja. I'm not scared of death."

When they first started out the group openly stated that after five albums they would be no longer.

And with their fourth album due for release later this month, Ninja again reiterated his previous comments.

Of course, they aren't going to simply go away. Ninja confirmed that they are working on an art project to be shown at the Museum of Contemporary Modern Art Africa in Cape Town as well as a movie.

"There's this movie we're making called South African Ninja, that we've been working on forever — literally like ten years — and we've just been finishing it off now. That's been our well that we've been drinking from and drawing from since the beginning of Die Antwoord. We actually started writing it before Die Antwoord."

The group spend much of their time in Los Angeles and have attracted a host of well-known friends including Cara  Delevingne, Jack Black and Marilyn Manson.

UPDATE: Die Antwoord have since distanced themselves from the claims, saying their quotes were taken out of context.
