DJ Maphorisa has hit back at his critics, saying that they tried to bury him but couldn't succeed.

As one of Mzansi's most famous producers, DJ Maphorisa is no stranger to his hater's attempts to bring him down. But the artist is determined to show his critics that he will always come out on top.

Maphorisa, who has previously worked with Drake and counts Chris Brown as one of his friends, is living the life at the moment. But that wasn't always the case - Maphorisa says that there were many who laughed at his dreams and tried to "hide" him.

"I said I am buying (a) big house. ‘double story'. They said I am crazy. I said I am going to be the best producer. They tried to hide me. I said I am going to own sports cars. They said 'With which money? Was I dreaming? Or I just woke up?" Maphorisa wrote in a gloating Instagram post on Tuesday.

The star is obviously in a defiant mood, following the news that his highly anticipated EP will be released this Friday. However, Maphorisa is no stranger when it comes to tackling hate head on.

In May, the internationally-renowned DJ took to Twitter to crown himself as "the new Kanye West" and threaten his haters with 'ill-health' if they doubted his abilities.

"I don’t think it’s wise to hate me because you will end in a stroke or depression. Stroke and depression is on your way‚ stop hating. I’m the new Kanye, he told fans, before adding that he had "been quite for so long" and "just got a call from GOD" who told him it was his time.
