This week's episode of Coke Studio promises to be one not to miss - six rappers, one studio and surprise elimination process. Damn, it's sure to make one nail-biting show.

This Saturday there's going to be a bit of a 'shake up' in the studio after the guys at Coke Studio put six rappers from across the country together to create one banger trap music track.

Gigi Lamayne, Celestial, Microphone, Khaptive, Lordy Lord and Sparks all have different styles, which is already a challenge to overcome. But with local music hitmaker and producer Gemini Major at the helm, their fusion is one for the books.

  • Here's why Coke Studio has Jimmy on his knees! The strangest thing happens in the Coke Studio this week: Jimmy Nevis gets down on his knees!

And if 48 hours to create a track wasn't already enough pressure, Coke Studio host Trey springs a surprise on the artists.

Three of the artists may face elimination! The unsettling news obviously creates some tension in the studio but the rappers take it in their stride and get back to making beats.

Then another surprise is added to the mix! Award-winning rapper Gigi Lamayne is brought in to feature on the track. More pressure!

  • Effortless chemistry when iFani and Francois van Coke join forces in the Coke Studio In this week's episode of Coke Studio, East meets West as Eastern Cape’s iFani gets together with Western Cape’s Francois van Coke to create a blend of hip-hop and rock in one hit track. And the best part? It's such an effortless crack at bringing two vastly different genres together.

In the end it all comes together but three artists will unfortunately have to go home- so best you clear your diary to find who goes and who gets to stay.

In the second part of the show three artists from completely different musical backgrounds fuse to create an 'African fusion' track.

  • Trey Songz set to collaborate with Emtee & DJ Maphorisa for season finale of Coke StudioCoke Studio brings you an enthralling international fusion which is set to end season 2 on a high note. American R&B sensation Trey Songz has been confirmed as this year’s Coke Studio international superstar who will be collaborating with renowned local hip-hop star Emtee.

Zinhle Ngidi and Ammara Brown team up with Maskandi artist Sizwe Ngubane to create magic. Their track is produced by award-winning musician Mobi Dixon who leads the pack.

But there's a little bit of a bump when all three musicians meet in the studio: they are a little short of inspiration.

To get their creative juices flowing the musicians get jamming. Andn the end Mobi is able to lead them and the end result is a banger!

Coke Studio airs on Saturdays, e.tv, 6:05pm.
