I can't be falling apart every year, says Kelly Khumalo on Senzo Meyiwa's death anniversary

As the country remembered slain footballer Senzo Meyiwa on the second anniversary of his death on Wednesday, Kelly Khumalo revealed that the pain of losing her beau has become better with time.

Speaking to Sowetan, the singer explained that she cannot continue to sit in perpetual sadness each year on the anniversary of Senzo's death, revealing that she has learnt to not let the tragic incident get in the way of her everyday life.

"I think as time goes on, one learns to live with such things and not let it get in the way of your everyday life," she told the local publication.

"I'm on set. I can't afford to sit at home and sulk and mourn. I've had to brush it off. I can't be falling apart every year on this day. It is what it is. It's painful, but I've decided let me go on."

During an interview with Anele Mdoda on Real Talk a few weeks ago, Kelly revealed that she had penned a tribute song entitled Senzo in honour of the late soccer star.

The singer explained that she initially thought of getting a tattoo but decided against it, as it would be disrespectful to her future husband, so she decided to make a song instead.
