It's no secret that King Monada's latest hit track, Ska Bhora Moreki, is all the rage on dance floors across the country. However, the Limpopo-born artist claims that he didn't see it all coming.

Look, you can ask anyone, when the DJ plays Ska Bhora Moreki in the club, you know it's about to go all the way down.

The single has managed to place Monada into a league of dance music stars, including Babes Wodumo, who quickly managed to win the hearts of South Africans through their hit songs.

Speaking to Move!, Monada explained that Ska Bhora Moreki was inspired by "people who just want to have fun and buy their own drinks." He didn't think that it would reach such great heights.

"They want to do that without being bothered," he told the local publication.

"My producer was impressed when I wrote the song. I couldn't believe it when I saw people from my village and the whole country dancing to my song."

  •

During an interview with Sowetan last month, the singer expressed how "excited" he gets when he sees people on their feet whenever he takes to the stage.

"It excites [me] to see people on their feet when I get on stage. It's validation that I'm a bona fide South African artist. I'm becoming a big national star and not just a local musician," he said.
