The trend has dominated Twitter over the last few days, as users posted images of themselves "dead" in a variety of ways.

  • J'Something shares rare snap of his bae After years of trying to keep their romance out of the spotlight, it seems like J'Something and his bae,Cordelia Godi are finally stepping out of their shells.

Speaking to TimesLIVE , psychologist Mara Zanella from the SA Depression and Anxiety Group called on people to exercise caution and warned of the effects the trend may have on people who view or participate in it.

"People use humour as a coping mechanism but fail to understand the seriousness behind these images. You can't control people's voices and what they deem as funny but they need to practise caution and consider others. People make fun of suicide and depression but this often derives from a lack of knowledge," Zanella said.
