If you're planning on tuning into SABC 1 to watch Generations: The legacy on Monday evening, prepare to be surprised.

In case you missed it with all the festive cheer, the SABC announced last year that the popular soapie would move to SABC 3, for the duration of the African Cup of Nations football competition.

The SABC is broadcasting many of the tournament matches on SABC 1 from now until Sunday February 5 2017.

  • Inside Jub Jub's parole conditions: Daily police visits and zero public visibilityNeighbours and staff at the home of Jackie Maarohanye, the mother of Molemo 'Jub Jub' Maarohanye, have exclusively revealed details around the disgraced rapper's parole conditions - the specifics of which have been shrouded in secrecy by The Department of Correctional Services.

Coverage of these matches mean that the SABC have decided to move Generations: The Legacy  to 7:30pm on SABC 3.

"The African Cup of Nations will be broadcast live on SABC 1. But we understand that not everyone likes soccer so we have had to move our popular shows onto other platforms. This is nothing new. We have done this with Generations many times and Generations is not the only show that will be affected by the move," SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago told TshisaLIVE recently.

  • I could win a Grammy and someone would still think I suck, says EmteeEmtee has once again hit back at his haters, claiming that no matter how much success he achieves there will always be someone who thinks that he is not talented.

Other shows that are affected by the change are Skeem Saam, which will now be broadcast at 6:30pm on SABC 2, and Uzalo, which will be broadcast at 8:30pm on SABC 2
