Pop the champers! DJ Black Coffee has scored himself a residency at the world's party capital Ibiza.

Black Coffee made the announcement on his social media pages on Wednesday through a short video.

Black Coffee will take up his Ibiza residency at Hi Ibiza every Saturday from June until September.

  • Tsek, cyclone Dineo! - here’s the only Dineos we care aboutInstead of watching the weather channel waiting for cyclone Dineo to hit your hood, we suggest you watch these Dineo's tear it up instead.

Tickets to see him perform will range from €45,00 (R418) for general access.

Fans and friends have been quick to congratulate Black Coffee, hailing it as a massive achievement.

Here's just three reasons this calls for a massive celebration...

He's the first DJ to have a residency at the club

Hi Ibiza is a brand new club located in the heart of Ibiza, which means that it is always the centre of the party. Being the first resident DJ at the club means that he will always be the headline act, with the club expected to pull in thousands of party-goers.

It cements his status as one of Africa's greatest DJ exports

Sure, Black Coffee has performed at Coachella and at some of the biggest festivals in the world, but the mark of a true musician is their ability to stay relevant. With a residency in the centre of Ibiza, Black Coffee will not only stay relevant, but will also no doubt push his brand to new heights. All of that while opening Ibiza for other South African acts.

  • We have failed to encourage greatness in black, says JR.JR is a master at spitting lines so when it comes to issues affecting South Africans, you can bet he has an opinion. He has taken aim at government saying that while opportunities where created for black South Africans, the 'how to' part was neglected.

He will no doubt be partying with some of the world's biggest celebs.

It's no secret that some of the world's most famous stars like to head to Ibiza for the summer.

Anne Hathaway, Justin Bieber, Drake and Kim Kardashian are just some of the stars that frequent the party island. Ibiza is known for its club-hopping culture, which means that Black Coffee may soon be entertaining some really big stars.

Don't forget that Black Coffee already counts the likes of Swiss Beats, P Diddy and Paris Hilton as fans of his work.

With all that, we can't help but bow to King Black Coffee!
