Popular soapie star Kagiso Modupe has decided to lead by example by getting medically circumcised and has called on his fans to join him.

The Scandal!  actor, who is also an ambassador for non-profit organisation Brothers For Life, has invited other men to join him on Saturday March 11.

Kagiso will be having the procedure done at the Katlehong North Clinic on the day, but there are 200 clinics around the country that are part of the campaign.

"I would like South African men to join me in a celebration of masculinity, brotherhood and good health," he said.

The actor explained that he was motivated to get circumcised because of the health benefits.

  • Florence Masebe slams Mzansi's 'obsession' with international artistsVeteran actress Florence Masebe wants South Africa to stop its obsession with bringing international artists to local music festivals and start valuing the talent we have.

"Circumcision reduces the risk of contracting HIV by 60% as well as other sexually transmitted infections. Some men do it because it keeps the penis clean, and others because their partners prefer it, but whatever the reason, it’s the right thing to do," he said.

The actor's wife Liza will be at the clinic to support her man through the procedure. Kagiso explained that he wanted to debunk myths surrounding circumcision.

  • Ambitiouz Entertainment heads to court over artist sagaAmbitiouz Entertainment has finally responded with a rather vague statement over the storm that erupted around Fifi Cooper, A-Reece, B3nchmarq and Flame's mass walk out from the stable.

This was also part of the reason why he wasn't already circumcised. When he was younger, a doctor told him that his foreskin was too small.

"A doctor told me my foreskin was too small which turned out to be nonsense. Then there were the usual issues: I was nervous about the pain, the healing period and abstaining from sex."

The actor has since done research and discovered that there is more discomfort than pain.

"You can’t have sex or masturbate for six weeks afterwards, but I’ve timed it to be totally healed by my birthday."

To book a place at one of the 150 clinics in Gauteng, KZN, Mpumpalanga and the North West send a 'please call me' to 082 808 6152.
