Some Twitter users may not be impressed by Drake's recent decision to release a version of Black Coffee's hit track Superman, but the SA DJ couldn't be happier.

Black Coffee opened up to US publication Pigeons and Planes about Drake using his track on the More Life project and said that he was honoured to have been approached by the rapper's team.

He said that Drake had first featured the song on a playlist he compiled two years ago but that "nothing came of it" until recently when Drake's team emailed the DJ asking for permission to use the song. He said that he sent the track back in full for them to use.

  • What Drake snub? SA singer Bucie is laughing all the way to the bank!SA singer Bucie may not have been featured on Drake's reworked version of Superman, but will still cash in that moola after being listed as a songwriter on the track.

Black Coffee explained that house music has never had the exposure and budgets of hip-hop and RnB, but that it would soon change with Drake featuring the track on his project.

In other words, as always, Black Coffee did it for Mzansi and the game. What a man!
