Just 24 hours before being shot and killed outside a pub in Soweto, former Generations actor and radio DJ Mandla Hlatshwayo was in a joyful mood as he hosted what has now become his last radio show on Jozi FM.

Mandla uploaded a Facebook live video of himself jamming in studio to the sounds of house music at around 10:19 pm on Saturday (May 13).

Little did the DJ know that it would be his last time on-air.

DJ Mandla, as he called himself hosted the Weekend Special for over five years on Jozi FM.

Although the DJ didn't say much on the video, he chanted to the beat of music and the smile on his face told a thousand words.

In the wake of Mandla's death, Jozi FM boss Mpho Mhlongo told TshisaLIVE that eyewitnesses on the scene said that he was apparently trying to save women in the tavern from being robbed.
