What do David Beckham and Gordon Ramsay have in common - apart from enjoying international celebrity status?

According to news website the firstpost.co.uk the famous footballer and the slightly less famous chef are working on plans to open a traditional eel pie and mash shop - and possibly even a chain - in the UK.

The duo have registered the name PM (Pie & Mash) Restaurant using their joint initials DBGR.

According to the website, "the LA Galaxy footballer has befriended the chef since he began spending time in the US to film the US version of Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares".

Beckham's love of pies is legion. The Daily Mirror reported that while he was playing for Real Madrid he would ask friends visiting him in Spain to pick up a takeaway from Tony's Pie and Mash shop in Waltham Abbey, Essex. - Staff reporter
