Christina Hendricks, the sexy star of the hit US TV series Mad Men, was labelled one of the sexiest women alive.

But she's still too fat for fashion designers.

London's Daily Mail reported that at a size 14, Hendricks has a healthy figure.

She has hit back at labels that can't supply her with dresses to wear on the red carpet because they hand out only sizes four to six to celebrities.

"People have been saying wonderful things about me. Yet not one designer in town will loan me a dress," she said.

"They only lend a size 0 or 2 [South African sizes 4 and 6], so I'm still struggling for someone to give me a darn dress."

Red-headed Hendricks, 35, plays a sexy secretary on the show.

Despite the fashion designers' apparent disapproval, she has legions of male fans, having been named Esquire magazine's sexiest woman earlier this year.

And she turned many heads in a plunging Zac Posen dress at this week's Emmy Awards.
