The murder trial of musician Molemo 'Jub Jub' Maarohanye and his co-accused Themba Tshabalala was delayed in the Protea Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
This was done to allow a witness expected to testify time to arrive in court.
Prosecutor Raymond Mathenjwa said he did not know where the witness was and would find out.
Maarohanye and Tshabalala face charges of murder, attempted murder and driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
The two allegedly ploughed into a group of school children in their Mini Coopers on March 8 last year, killing four of them and seriously injuring two others.
The friends, who were released on bail, used to arrive in court together at the beginning of their case last year. However the pair had recently been arriving separately and had hardly spoken a word to each other in court.
Maarohanye also lost his usual entourage which included the mother of his son, fellow artist Kelly Khumalo.
