One Direction have taken top spot on heat magazine's annual rich list of young British stars, with an estimated fortune of £77.5 million.

One Direction have been named Britain's richest stars under the age of 30.

The Little Things hitmakers - comprising Louis Tomlinson, 23, Niall Horan, 21, Zayn Malik, 21, Harry Styles, 20, and 21-year-old Liam Payne - have amassed a collective fortune of £77.5 million, retaining the top spot in heat magazine's annual list thanks to endeavours such as selling their name and image rights to Coles supermarkets in Australia, releasing two fragrances, embarking on a world tour and selling four million copies of their latest album Midnight Memories.

Second place on the list was Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe with an estimated fortune of £63.5 million, while his former wizarding co-star Robert Pattinson took third place with estimated earnings of £51.4 million.

And it seems Horns actor Daniel, 25, wasn't happy with his ranking as he felt he should have been given the top spot.

He joked to heat: "There's five of them! That doesn't count! Not that I care but I am definitely first!"

Also featured on the list - which is based on estimated earnings from movie deals, record sales and other endorsements - were actress Keira Knightley, 29, in fourth place with £39.9 million and singer Adele, 26, who took fifth spot with a fortune of £36.25 million.

The top 10 also featured two more Harry Potter stars, 24-year-old Emma Watson, who was ranked sixth with a fortune of £31.66 million and eighth placed Rupert Grint with £27.33 million.

Calvin Harris, 30, took seventh spot with £28.99 million, and the top 10 was completed by singers Leona Lewis with £15.51 million and Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner, 28, with £13.56 million.

Despite the staggering sums, the British stars' fortunes were dwarfed in the international stakes.

The publication compiled a top five from outside of Britain, with 28-year-old twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen taking the top spot with a huge £182 million fortune.

Lady Gaga placed second with £132 million, Justin Bieber third with £105 million, Taylor Swift in fourth with £86 million and Miley Cyrus completed this list with a fortune just ahead of One Direction's, £78 million.
