Melissa McCarthy has received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and thinks it ''just seems nuts.'' The 44-year-old actress was presented with the prestigious honour at a ceremony in Los Angeles and admitted she never believed it was possible. The Spy star said: "I don't think you dare to think of things like that."I don't know what's happening. I keep thinking it's the fake one. I'm going to camp out around it and make sure if doesn't dissolve in the first rain. Like mine's actually made out of papier maché."The fact I do what I really love, which sounds a lot cornier than I mean it, but I actually mean it, is all I really hope for, so to get stuff like that it just really seems nuts. It really seems like there's 50 cherries on top of the sundae."Guests at the event included the 'Tammy' star's husband Ben Falcone, Ellen DeGeneres and director Paul Feig, as well as the actress' mother, Sandra, and sister.McCarthy's father Michael was unable to attend the ceremony. She told E! News: "He is deweeding the lake. It was his turn at the club to take care of the weeds, so he's doing that. That's the truth. I can't write that."But the actress credits her parents for encouraging her to pursue acting. She said: "Every time I said, 'I'm going to quit college and do standup' my mom and dad would say, 'Great! Work hard at it and you could probably do it.' And they continued to say that for the 20 years it took me to actually do it steadily."..
