Former soccer player, Jimmy Tau is said to have paid R200,000 for lobola to the wealthy family of his girlfriend, according to a report.

A celebration in honour of Tau and his girlfriend, Sizakele Manonga apparently took place in the lavish suburb of Pretoria East two weeks ago.

The family bash was to celebrate Tau finishing off lobola for Manonga whom he got engaged to a few months ago.

According to Sunday Sun, Tau paid the hefty amount to the Manonga family who are known for their immense wealth - they own a mansion with fourteen bedrooms on a private estate and are in possession of more than 30 German cars.

Manonga previously dated Kaizer Chiefs player George Lebese but broke it off after he physically assaulted her at the beginning of this year. She started seeing Tau shortly thereafter

“Look, Sizakele’s family has money and Jimmy knows very well that the R200,000 ilobolo he paid was just a drop in the ocean for the Manongas.

“But despite all the drama involving George, their relationship seems to be legit,”a source told Sunday Sun.

The Manongas wealth was on display when a reality show titled Rich Kids aired recently. Two Mononga sons, Bob and Don appeared on the show, talking of the wealth their family has.

The brothers cited owning top of the range Mercedes Benz A-Class AMGs and their parents collecting a fleet of super cars such as Ferraris and Bentleys. They also spoke of spending thousands on booze at clubs and getting anything they want.
