A representative for Barcelona star Gerard Pique has poured cold water over allegations that the soccer star and his pop star girlfriend Shakira are at the centre of a sextape blackmail plot.
Reports in Spain surfaced this week suggesting that the famous couple, who have two kids together, are being blackmailed by a former employee who had gotten his hands on some homemade "erotic content" of the couple and wanted a "big sum of money" in return.
But TMZ on Thursday reported that Pique’s representative denied the couple were being blackmailed.
The couple’s alleged sextape blackmail comes hot on the heels of another Spain-based soccer star Karim Benzema, who was arrested in France for allegedly blackmailing a teammate over a sex tape.
Benzema denies any wrongdoing, however, a Paris prosecutor was quoted in French media last week suggesting that the Real Madrid striker admitted to the sextape blackmail.
