The two presenters who have been at the helm of the show of late are set to move on from the soccer show after SABC bosses decided to change the format.

Viewers will have to contend with seeing Dlamini and Mlambo presenting their last few shows in the next two months after they were removed from the new format of the show.

Insiders told The Sowetan that Soccerzone is losing its audience and is no longer what it once was despite bringing Dlamini and Mlambo onboard.

Instead, producers decided to redirect the format, making it a highlights only show without presenters.

"The story is Thomas and Minnie Dlamini have failed in terms of improving viewership, but to be fair things have never been the same since Robert Marawa left in 2006...When they hired Thomas, they thought he could steady the whole thing but even his arrival did little to change things around," a source said.

Apparently even the inclusion of Dlamini could not change viewership figures around since "she doesn't know anything about football," the source added.

The new show will still air on Monday at 10 pm.
