Former Generations: The Legacy “most valued” actor JT Medupe is “okay” after crashing his car near Westbury cemetery on the west rand in the early hours of Saturday morning.

According to a report in Tuesday’s edition of the Sowetan newspaper Medupe, who played Jonathan on the popular SABC1 soapie, rolled his Mini Cooper near the cemetery entrance.

No one was arrested for being under the influence or injured and his vehicle was the only damaged one when paramedics arrived at the scene around 3am, Johannesburg metro police spokesperson Edna Mamonyane told the daily newspaper.

Remarkably, Medupe, through the soapie's publicist, said that “it was just a minor bump” and that he was “okay” despite the newspaper reporting that it has seen photos of the crashed car, which had "flipped over with its top open."

The wrecked car’s airbags imploded and one of the wheels was ripped off the vehicle, the report added.
