Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune has denied weekend reports that he was dumped by his girlfriend Sbahle Mpisane for allegedly cheating on her.

The former Chiefs captain woke up to a Sunday Sun front page report which alleged that Mpisane gave him the red card for allegedly cheating on her.

Mpisane, the daughter of KwaZulu-Natal billionaire couple Sbu and Shawn Mpisane, apparently grew increasingly tired of Khune’s roving eye and did not spend Valentines' Day with the player, according to the report.

The tabloid’s sources claim that Sbahle felt betrayed by Khune’s alleged cheating more so after she went against her parent’s objections to her relationship with the Chiefs’ star.

But Khune dismissed the report as “lies” in a social media post on Monday.

“I don't buy papers anymore cause all they write about us is pure lies,” replied Khune after his Instagram follower alerted him to check the front page of the Sunday Sun.

Sbahle, who has never confirmed nor denied her relationship with Khune, told the newspaper that “I don’t discuss my private life with the media.”

Sbahle posted of picture on Instagram of her boarding a plane to Cape Town on Saturday, where Chiefs played SuperSport United at Cape Town Stadium and won 2-1 but Khune was not included in the match day squad as he has just recovered from an injury.

Whether Khune was with Mpisang in the stadium suits on Saturday evening just hours before the Sunday Sun report emerged is still unclear.
