Kwaito group Big Nuz nearly lost another member over the weekend after “Danger”, whose real name is Mzi Tshomela, was stabbed in the head, allegedly by a Lindo "Dogg" Buthelezi - a marketing freelancer working for DJ Bongz’s recording label.

Danger was admitted to a Durban private hospital where he is set to undergo an emergency operation on Wednesday.

DJ Bongz confirmed the fight and told Drum magazine on Tuesday that he went to see Danger in hospital but “we couldn’t talk because he was still sedated.”

The fight broke out when Danger questioned why a house DJ won a kwaito award at the Metro FM Music Awards hosted on Saturday in Durban. That infuriated Dogg, who reacted by hitting Danger with a bottle of wine in the face, alleges the magazine’s source.

DJ Bongz said the fight had nothing to do with Afrotainment or his record label. DJ Tira was not available for comment.

Big Nuz member R Mashesha died in August 2015.
