Jub Jub set to be released soon: report

Jub Jub and his friend, Themba Tshabalala have served half of their 8-year jail sentences and are eligible for parole and an early release next year.

The pair were jailed for crashing their cars into a group of school kids in 2012.

According to Sunday World, Correctional Services spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo confirmed the award winning musician will be considered for parole in December.

"In terms of policy, an offender does not apply but will automatically be considered for possible placement on parole once a certain portion of the sentence has been completed.

"In this case the offender will be considered after completion of half the sentence which is in 2016," said Nxumalo.

Two families said they would accept Jub Jub's parole if he apologised to them first. One family said they were not willing to accept the decision of parole.

"He must rot in jail. But if the government wants to release him, they can do so. He didn't bother to apologise for what he did...I don't need his apology and he must stay there for the rest of his life."
