Arthur Mafokate ‘honoured and excited’ by new government role

Music boss and businessman Arthur Mafokate has responded to his appointment to the board of trustees of Brand SA saying he is both excited and challenged by his new role. President Jacob Zuma on Thursday announced the appointment of several new members to the Board of Trustees of Brand SA. Among the names on the list was that of popular musician Arthur Mafokate. Speaking to TMG Entertainment Arthur explained that he wants to do SA proud. “I am honoured and excited by my appointment. It’s a challenge but I know that I will be up to the tasks given to me. This country is very close to my heart.”Arthur‚ who is yet to be inducted onto the board‚ said he was waiting to receive a brief of his responsibilities but feels that his passion for marketing will help him face whatever challenges his new role brings.“I’m a marketer. I run a marketing company and it’s something that is very close to my heart‚” he said. Arthur reveals that he was made aware of the position several months back when he saw an advertisement encouraging people to apply. He sent in his request after working closely with the company during the 2010 Football World Cup.The musician and 999 Music boss recently announced a new single Habashwe‚ and an upcoming duet with singer Kelly Khumalo‚ but says he is not sure what impact his new role will have on his music career. Instead he will “take it as it comes.”..
