Veteran actress Lillian Dube last year revealed that she had to fight a renewed battle with cancer after undergoing a single mastectomy. Although she returned to work fairly quickly she has since confirmed that her fight against the disease is not yet over. Speaking to tvplus magazine‚ Lillian confirmed that doctors explained to her that her cancer mutates. “That cancer of mine: remember I had 9 years ago? Then it came back last year. The first time I had a lumpectomy where they removed the lump from my right breast. The second time they had to cut the breast out which is a mastectomy.”“And recently they found out that my cancer mutates and I need to be on treatment which is expensive and you don’t get it in public hospitals. I asked my oncologist and it’s bound to cost R500 000. I have to take tablets for five years and its also expensive.”Although it's yet another setback for the actress‚ those close to her tell TMG Entertainment that she remains positive. “Her priority here is to send a message of early detection. It saves lives."TMG Entertainment understands that despite the news‚ it’s business as usual for Lillian‚ who is still continuing to work and insists that it “takes her mind off things.”..
