Her advice may sound basic, but it’s good to know what B has come to know throughout her years in the entertainment industry.

Taking to her website, BonangMatheba.com, B let us in on some of her secrets to life.

Focus your focus baby girl

B says that the most important rule for anyone who is passionate about succeeding is to be focused on goals. She says she doesn’t have time for negativity and makes sure that she shuts out the noise.

Assemble a good team

You might see B looking glam on the cover of a magazine, but it takes an army to not only make sure that she looks good, but manage everything. “My mother always says ‘You are the result of the five people you spend the most time with.’ Who are the people in your life, and how are they inspiring you to reach your full potential?”

Keep it moving

Bonang has often spoken out about how she was rejected in life. But she insists that she did not let that discourage her. “I never wallowed in self-pity or got discouraged. I simple went back to the drawing board.

Allocate your time effectively

This is a biggie says the Top Billing presenter. She has emphasized how important it is to not only manage your time and prioritize, but also makes the point that time heals. “It heals, but brings understanding and it makes things clearer.”

The confidence to say NO

It’s probably the one thing we all battle to do. But B says that over time she has learnt to ask herself a set of questions to ensure that when she does get asked things, she has a fallback of sorts.

Ask yourself these questions before you commit first: Is this in line with my goals? Do I genuinely love this? Will this take me to the next level? Am I willing to sacrifice? Am I looking at the bigger picture or will this be an instant gratification?
