She dominates the red carpet‚ excels in her acting duties and has become a force to be reckoned with in the local football scene. But perhaps the one thing that she slays the most at is being a host. From the Metro FM Awards to The SA Sports Awards‚ Minnie Dlamini has just landed another big job. It’s been confirmed that our gal will be hosting the second annual Good Practice Awards which are set to take place in June.See‚ there’s really nothing that she can’t handle. The awards recognise and reward companies who have achieved outstanding work in the retail and wholesale sector.Acting CEO Andile Sipengane has promised that the ceremony will be a star-studded event with celebs presenting awards and other high profile personalities in attendance.TMG Entertainment caught up with Minnie to chat all things awards. You’ve become the queen of hosting award shows – do you have any competition?Ah‚ thanks for the title. I do my best and try to improve with every show. I learn and move forward and try not to make the same mistakes.Be honest: do you still get nervous?Yes‚ but once I'm on stage it goes away and focus takes over. How much prep goes into each show?It depends on the show‚ but usually about three days. The wardrobe‚ hair and make-up is another story‚ but my team is great and super-efficient.It’s a tough crowd – what do you do?You have to be professional and do your job. I can read my audience and they are usually welcoming. The Good Practice Awards will be filled with CEO’s and Government officials‚ fortunately I have learnt to navigate those relationships and interactions. How many outfit changes can we expect for this?Well‚ we will have to wait and see. But the wardrobe will be more chic than dramatic. Maybe we will go for the 80s power woman theme? What’s something that people won’t see behind the scenes? How awesome the people I work with. The fun we have behind the stage and all the jokes and silly behaviour. Perhaps they will see it one day soon...
