Test Drive: Ferrari' trailer teases vehicle line-up
The first full trailer for Test Drive: Ferrari shows a range of race cars, classic, sports and modern, tearing around a variety of prestigious tracks.
Various 312s, F40s and F50s, Californias and a 599 crop up among their Ferrari brethren, seen weaving through Imola, Monaco, Spa, Silverstone and the Nürburgring among others.
Though the game is to debut March 30 (European release) and this trailer is new to the public eye, the cut is said to be a year old and some of the content seen up to three years old -- around the time that developer Slightly Mad Studios was working on the first Need for Speed: Shift.
That goes some way to explaining apparent similarities in handling style, as licensed cars fling themselves through curves with abandon, but if Slightly Mad's current approach to independent project C.A.R.S. were to apply here, then the Ferraris would still stay true to real-world parameters.
The Ferrari badge has endorsed a number of titles in recent years, with Ferrari GT on iPhone and Nintendo DS joining Ferrari Challenge and Ferrari: The Race Experience on consoles, as well as appearances in Gran Turismo 5, Forza Motorsport 4 and F1 2011 alongside other manufacturers.
Fellow luxury marque Porsche, on the other hand, has adopted a far more exclusive approach to video game licensing, electing Electronic Arts of Need for Speed fame as sole custodian -- hence why games like Atari-published Test Drive Unlimited 2 and Microsoft's Forza 4 feature RUF's tuned Porsches instead.
