SA's first multi-player location based game launches
The Grid has launched South Africa's first location based multiplayer cellphone game - "Legends of Echo."
Legends of Echo takes place in a mirror South Africa, where players will use one of five elemental powers - earth, air, water, fire and industry in order to battle it out for R500's worth of free airtime, or R5000 in cash prizes.
The aim of the game is to become a "legend of Echo", which means appearing on the high score sheet, which can be done by exploring to obtain advanced weapons and battling or trading with each other.
The game is a free Java download for cellphones, and once players have it they can immediately start playing. There is no cost to play, except for the standard data costs to the network provider. Players can trade airtime for Elements, which can then be traded for weapons.
