Alec Baldwin is to reunite with Russell Brand in a new comedy movie.

The 54-year-old actor will team up with his Rock Of Ages co-star again in Man That Rocks The Cradle, which tells the story of an overworked husband and father-of-four who employs a super-nanny he is told is a kid whisperer and will help ease his problems.

Arnold and Anne Kopelson are due to produce the New Line movie, which is based on a story by Josh Cagan and Rob McKittrick, Deadline reports.

Alec also looks set to work with his 'To Rome With Love' director Woody Allen on the helmer's next ensemble comedy, which is due to begin shooting in New York and San Francisco this summer.

Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett and British star Sally Hawkins have also both been linked with roles in the as-yet untitled film.

Alec and Russell star as club operators in the forthcoming film adaption of musical Rock of Ages, which is directed by Adam Shankman and stars Tom Cruise, Malin Akerman, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Julianne Hough, who previously said she has become "best friends" with Mary J. Blige since starring alongside her in the motion picture.

She recently told Bang Showbiz: "We couldn't be more opposite looking at each other, but we've now become best friends. It's great!

"She's a real woman, she's so sweet. She left me a long message the other day saying I'll be whatever you want me to be, your mother, your sister, your aunt, your friend."
