James Bond comes back from the dead in the new trailer for the franchise’s new instalment, released by Sony Pictures July 31.

The new peek at the 23rd episode of the James Bond saga, Skyfall, a 2'32'' video, reveals an important part of the plot. The loss of a drive containing the British secret agents' identities ends M's leadership at the head of the MI6 and leads to the scene of 007's death.

The trailer by Sam Mendes also shows Javier Bardem in the skin of the villain, a performance promising to be on par with the one the actor gave in The Coen Brothers' No Country for Old Men -- for which he was awarded an Oscar.

Skyfall will be released October 26 in the UK, in France and in Belgium. In the US, it will be screened starting November 9.
