Javier Bardem for Chilean miner movie?
Javier Bardem is being lined up to star in a new movie about the trapped Chilean miners.
The Oscar-winning actor is favoured for a lead role in the film, which will tell the tale of the 33 men who have been trapped in a collapsed mine for the past two months but should be pulled to safety in days.
Following their planned release, film bosses are eager to talk to the men to get their version of events and turn their ordeal - which has gripped the world - into a blockbuster film.
The miners have been trapped in the San Jose mine for 67 days and will return to the surface via a 622 metre rescue tunnel, although they have had arguments over who will be the last man out.
Chilean Mining Minister Laurence Golborne said that while the possibility of an accident during the rescue could never be ruled out, he insisted the hole was "in very good condition".
