Malik releases 'Music in Love'

Times LIVE | 13 July, 2012 08:06

WITH VIDEO - Local neo-soul artist Malik is back with a new album.

Music in Love feature songs in four different languages; isiXhosa, seTswana, isiZulu and English, and is produced by Bongani Fassie, Thomas “Thaso” Tsotetsi, Thomas Mohlapi and Thebe Lekhonkhobe.

“It’s an album about love. I don’t necessarily mean romantic love,” says Malik.

“It’s really just about how music affects your life when it comes to matters of the heart. It’s a feel good album, totally perfect for long drives.”

The journey to Music in Love began 2011 when Malik decided to revisit some of the music he had written, but never published.

He says the reflection on those compositions prompted the award-winning artist to produce the music he’s really always wanted to release.

“This is the music I’ve always wanted to do and the music that best represents me. It is the essence of me and I’ve been very fortunate to have worked with some of the talented, yet underrated producers on this album.”
