The word is officially out that multiple-award winning rapper Kanye West will be in Johannesburg for only one concert.

The Castle Lite-sponsored performance is scheduled for February 2, 2013.

It has been confirmed that Johannesburg will host West, but the venue for the event is yet to be disclosed.

Brand campaign manager of Castle Lite Khayakazi Dyantyi said: "Yes, it is true we are bringing Kanye West next year, for a one-night-only event".

There is no word yet on who is billed for supporting acts.

The concert is scheduled for the same date as that of rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, which will take place at FNB Soccer City in Johannesburg

Tickets are expected to go on sale through Computicket from 28 September, priced from R650 for a standard ticket to R1 000 for limited golden circle tickets.
