Bring Me the Horizon, As I Lay Dying added to RAMfest lineup

Times LIVE | 01 October, 2012 13:02

Alternative music festival RAMfest have included more international acts to its lineup for 2013; Bring Me the Horizon and As I Lay Dying.

Metalcore band Bring Me the Horizon and As I Lay Dying are the latest two international acts that will be joining Rise Against and Paul Harding en Ben Verse from Pendulum to perform at RAMfest 2013.

Formed in Sheffield in 2004, Bring Me the Horizon has had many highlights since the launch of their career. They have won three Kerrang! Awards – one in 2007 for Best British Newcomer, the second in 2011 for Best Album for There is a Hell..., and most recently the 2012 award for Best British Video for Alligator Blood.

In 2011 they were officially the biggest band on MySpace UKin 2011; they have over 3.4 million fans on Facebook and over 50 million UK & European views on YouTube for their official videos.

In late 2011 BMTH supported Machine Head in UK and Europe, including a return to UK arenas.

For the first six months of 2012 the band has been in the studio working on their next album, to be released through Sony in 2013.

US-based As I Lay Dying, one of USA’s top metal attractions, has celebrated their latest worldwide release only last week with Awakened. This is the band’s sixth studio release to date and is already receiving excellent reviews from metal communities all across the globe.

Their appearance at RAMfest will make up a part of a 2013 world tour to promote Awakened. The band has been described by many as a rough blend between thrash and melodic death, but more commonly described as a leader of the metalcore sound; which fuses extreme metal with elements of hardcore punk.

They have featured prominently at major international festivals such as Wacken Open Air, Soundwave Festival, and Bloodstream to name only a few.

RAMfest will be held around the country on several dates between March 7 and 16, 2013.
