Times LIVE | 24 January, 2013 15:41
Newton's 2nd Law.

Local band Newton’s 2nd Law will be opening for Rodriguez on his nine date South African tour this February.

The Gauteng-based band, who recently signed with Sony Music, released their debut album N2L late last year.

The first single Fact of Life peaked at No. 8 on the 5FM Top 40 and became a chart topper on campus stations like Kovsie FM, TUKS FM and MFM.

Watch the video for Need You To Stay:

The five friends who make up the band pride themselves on the interesting sound they create through a mixture of genres such as rock, folk, soul and dub.

Recently nominated for an Oscar and Bafta, Searching for Sugar Man was a big hit at last year’s Sundance Film Festival where it won the world documentary audience award and a special jury award. It also received fantastic reviews at this year’s SXSW, Tribeca film festival, Sydney film festival and several others around the world.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to see the  iconic Rodriguez live in South Africa performing  his classic hits in support of Searching for Sugarman.
