Flash back to the '90s tonight with the best of kwaito music .

DStv's MTV Base channel is screening a music special called Kwaito Legends that's all about the songs made famous by Arthur Mafokate, TKZ, Boom Shaka and Mandoza, to name a few. The ground-breaking sounds of kwaito became popular in the late '90s as a celebration of the end of apartheid by the South African youth.

MTV Base has compiled a top 10 list of music videos by kwaito icons in recognition of these singers and bands, and their contribution to the industry.

A few famous local personalities will give their insights and opinions on how this music has evolved. DJ Cleo, Bricks, Loyiso Gola, GI and Lira give viewers the scoop on some of these singers , revealing their secrets and gossip.
