V A Volker, Pietermaritzburg: Many people are critical of Julius Malema because of the radical ideas he espouses, but he is not the problem.

There are many people with radical views on many issues.

The problem lies with the ordinary people, or the masses, who are, or were, the enthusiastic followers of those who espouse radical views. People like Hitler, Idi Amin and Mugabe, responsible for untold misery, would have been unheralded vuvuzela blowers had it not been for the masses who followed them.
