The world of politics is a funny place.

Not all that long ago when Number One was charged with rape, the court accepted his explanation that the incident had been a case of consensual sex with one of his daughter's friends who had slept over for the night.

Apparently, that was a trifling matter as far as the ANC was concerned and nothing more was made of it.

Not long after, he fathered an illegitimate child with the daughter of one of his friends. Again, the ANC didn't have a problem with that.

After all, the girl's father was his good friend.

What Zwelenzima Vavi is probably wondering now is how his transgression – an affair with one of his office workers – should be viewed with such moral abhorrence.

Of course, what he has to realise is that in every dung heap there can only be one Number One!

Get over it Vavi!

In the long term you will probably thank your detractors for having you kicked out of Cosatu which has become nothing more than a pimple on the ANC's bum.
