Who's your 'maaifoedie'? iLIVE
I do not wish to become involved with the distasteful matter of name-calling between Max du Preez and the ANC's Jackson Mthembu, but I take exception to the translation for "maaifoedie", as used by Du Preez.
All my life the word "maaifoedie" was used to describe a "scoundrel", and not this new interpretation by Du Preez.
Afrikaans is a rich and very descriptive language, but lately it is being mangled until it loses its meaning.
