On this street you express the pain/ Of a world gone utterly insane/ Where education is the enemy/ And you ain’t poor if you have TV/ As one percent rob capitalism’s store/ To the rest they slam the door/ Their voice is the news today/ Whines about taxes they don’t pay

Bankers who want your sympathy

After killing the economy

Say they are too big to fail

And now you must for them bail

This water from holes they drilled

Drown in debt they’ve billed

And wonder why you now rise

With so much anger in your eyes

Now as cops beat down the protesters

Their tear gas rebuttal registers

Against skulls of war veterans

Claim it’s all over before it begins

But it is no longer authorities’ hour

As the people cease the power

There will be no more silence

In the face of this economic violence
