In America there stands/ A statue by the sea/ Her eyes are open/ They call her Liberty/ So we can see/Just what it means/ To say you’re free

A soldier in Oakland

His face bloody stains

His eyes closed

Voice silenced by

Damage to the brains

In America there stands

A statue by the sea

Her eyes are open

They call her Liberty

So we can see

Just what it means

To say you’re free

In a place called Davis

Students sit and say

That justice is blind

Thanks to the cops

And pepper spray

In America there stands

A statue by the sea

Her eyes are open

They call her Liberty

So we can see

Just what it means

To say you’re free

With patriotic fervour

Freedom is your shout

Your vision hooded

So you can’t see

What the fuss is about
