In response to the letter: 'Bumbling Zuma unlikely to win sympathy this time', To judge Zuma on appointments he makes and compare him to Thabo Mbeki is unfair for the following reasons:

The powers of the ANC President when it comes to deployment pre- and after Polokwane Conference are not the same. The President of the ANC had powers; whereas Zuma doesn't, in terms of the resolutions taken in Polokwane

Appointing incompetent allies to top positions is the ANC problem. You cannot tell me that the appointment of Jackie Selebi, was a good one. Let alone Bulelani Ngcuka, whose era of making deals with murderers and drug dealers, leaves a lot to be desired about our justice system.

I have a personal issue with Menzi Simelane's era and some point I wanted to join the DA as a friend of the court about his incompetency.  What is wrong with Mogoeng Mogoeng,  Mac Maharaj or Willem Heath (who has now resigned)?

I sense some jealousy and bitterness in this article. We have to give it up to an uneducated farm boy who rose from Nkandla to lead educated cadres as ANC Intelligence Unit and now running the country.
